ALIGNMENT DESCRIPTIONS

SOUTH SECTION
S1 -S1 follows existing US 31E to just past Country Squire Lane where it veers away from existing US 31E. S1 has a dramatic affect on both Greear Estates and Creek Pointe Subdivision as it bisects both.

S2 -S2 follows the existing line and grade of US 31E for the majority of the south section, from Nazareth Drive to KY 509. This alternate would minimize right-of-way acquisitions and limit disturbance to areas already suited for a roadway.

S3 -S3 follows existing US 31E to just past Country Squire Lane where it transitions west from the existing highway. S3 extends to the rear of both Greear Estates and Creek Pointe Subdivision. It eliminates the need to divide the subdivisions since it would take the whole back section of the subdivisions.

S4 -S4 follows existing US 31E to just past Country Squire Lane where S4 begins transitioning west to avoid disturbance of the Greear Estates and Creek Pointe Subdivisions, but does minimally impact the Windy Hill Farm historic property.

MIDDLE SECTION
M1 - M1 west of existing US 31E, and stays west of the existing road, with the intent of eliminating impact to the historic properties located adjacent to the existing roadway.

M2 - M2 travels east until it meets the existing route near the William Forman House. M2 utilizes existing US 31E as a frontage road from near the William Forman property to the James Forman property.

M3 -M3 transitions east of the existing route avoiding physical impacts to historic properties. M3 then travels west and begins running parallel to US 31E near the intersection at KY 523, slightly west of the existing route.

NORTHERN SECTION
N1 - N1 continues to travel in a northwesterly fashion, until the intersection at KY 480, at which point N1 travels north, crossing into Bullitt County. N1 continues north until its intersection with US 31E northwest of the Salt River Bridge at the project terminus.

N2 - N2 travels northwest, distancing itself from the US 31E. N2 intersect with KY 480, and when it crosses into Bullitt County begins to transition east to avoid a family cluster north of the Bullitt-Nelson County line. N2 then runs northerly to the project terminus, northwest of the Salt River Bridge.

N3 - N3 begins by paralleling US 31E in an easterly direction until its intersection with KY 480. N3 roughly parallels US 31E until it ties into it just east of the Salt River Bridge, the project terminus.
